Garden office

More Case Studies

With the growing demand for space to work from home, garden offices/log cabins are growing in popularity, one dilemma with garden offices is the best way to maintain the temperature as by their nature they will tend to be cold in winter and hot in summer.

The solution is a reverse cycle air source heat pump. This has the ability to maintain a constant year round temperature, cooling in summer and heating in winter, often far more efficiently than any other heat source. Most systems also have the added benefit of being able to act as dehumidifiers to lower humidity within the rooms.

The cost to supply and install air source heat pump systems has come down dramatically over the past few years bringing them into the reach of even the most modest budget.

In this instance the garden office was a well insulated log cabin. The cabin had an overall foot print of 3.5mtrs x 2.5mtrs and with its high insulation factor only needed a heat pump with an output capacity of 2.5kw. To minimise energy usage for our client, Bartlett installed one of the latest Mitsubishi wall mounted split systems utalising inverter technology.
