The Met Office, Exeter

More Case Studies

Bartlett was appointed to provide an energy-efficient cooling solution for the College area within the Met Office, delivering improved climate control and occupant comfort across a range of teaching and operational spaces.

Following a detailed site assessment, Bartlett designed and installed a commercial air conditioning system using Hitachi floor-mounted fan coil units connected to high-efficiency IVX inverter-driven condensing units. This flexible HVAC solution enabled individual temperature set points to be maintained within each room, providing enhanced comfort, improved energy efficiency and precise environmental control tailored to the varying requirements of the facility.

The success of the initial installation led to Bartlett being awarded the second phase of the project, where the same proven cooling system design was implemented to maintain consistency, reliability and operational performance throughout the College area.

In addition to the primary installation, Bartlett has also delivered further commercial air conditioning upgrades across the wider Met Office site, including the installation of cassette air conditioning systems to provide localised temperature control within specific offices, meeting rooms and specialist operational areas.

The completed installations delivered reliable, energy-efficient and fully controllable commercial cooling systems, helping to create comfortable working and learning environments while supporting the organisation’s long-term operational and sustainability goals.
