Having worked for Harbour hotel group many times in the past Bartlett were the obvious choice when it came to the groups latest new build five star hotel project, the £25m development is constructed right on Southampton’s Ocean village marina, making it one of the most desirable marine locations in the UK.
Bartlett worked with Harbour hotels chef patron, Alex Aitken to design the catering facilities for the luxurious new hotel, in total Bartlett supplied and installed equipment to three kitchens within the hotel on different floors, in what can only be described as one of the most challenging sites around, with deliveries having to be very closely scheduled to meet the strict site access arrangements for working right on the marina, with equipment then having to be craned to the higher floors to enable works to proceed, all in all whilst the project was a challenge, Bartlett rose to the challenge enabling the works to be completed on time and within the clients budget.
Works undertaken included full ventilation systems, coldrooms & freezer rooms (with remote condensing units mounted on the roof of the building, all installed by Bartlett engineers) installation of all kitchen equipment incorporating among other items Charvet modular cook suites and Rational combination ovens.
